Middle School Tips and Tricks: A Grade 6 Guide to Grade 7

Have you ever felt lost or unsure about what to do when starting Secondary school? Well, if so, here’s the perfect guide for you! You will learn how to make friends, manage your work, and so much more.

“Assistance, Please!”

Firstly, you have to make friends. This is the easiest step. Now, one method for this could be to ask another student for help with something, whether it be homework or something else. At first, it may make you look ‘weak’, but something small like this could be the spark for friendship.

Also, having new friends means you need to find people who share your interests or people you feel comfortable around. And remember, when making friends, do not be shy, and let people know who you are. For example, you could say, “Hi, my name is ______ and I like playing _______. How about you?” Some might ignore you, but you should keep trying.

“That’s… new!”

In a new school, you are bound to have a different curriculum, resulting in new things that you might never have heard of. The best solution for this is to really just ask questions and prepare yourself until you get the hang of things.

Furthermore, everyone, both new and ‘not’ new students, face some kind of management problems, especially managing their homework and social life. You can do this by:

  • Using a calendar
  • Learning how to manage time through the help of your parents
  • Checking your assignments before they are due before making other plans

With all this in mind, you should be set to tackle your management problems as a student.

“My interest… my responsibilities!”

All you need to do is find a club you like and join it, as this can also help you find and meet other students who enjoy what you also enjoy, and it can help you learn new things!

Also, part of being responsible includes doing your homework. And this should be taken seriously. If you want to get high grades, you should do your homework on time. Doing your homework is a great way to boost your scores, but also to remember things you have learned. Just remember: don’t ask AI for answers and take full responsibility for doing and studying for your homework.

Good luck!

That’s all for these middle school tips and tricks. So remember: make friends, do your homework, and join a club (and most importantly, don’t fail!). I pray you use this advice in your daily life as a middle schooler.

And just before I end this, always remember to have fun, and good luck with school!
