SA L’Avenue Celebrates Math Pi Day 2025 with Creativity, Competition, and Critical Thinking

Math Pi Day 2025 was a vibrant celebration of mathematics and its significance in our everyday lives, held at Sampoerna Academy's L'Avenue campus. It was a day dedicated to recognizing the value of math and the contributions of mathematicians, both past and present. This year’s celebration embraced the exciting theme of  Mathematics, Art, and Creativity.

To kick off the event, students participated in a Logo Making Contest before Math Pi Day. This contest encouraged students to showcase their artistic and design skills by submitting logos to be used as the official emblem. The contest was open to all students, and the winning logo was proudly displayed on posters, banners, and more.

Throughout the day, students from ELC, primary, and secondary levels actively joined in the celebration, making it a truly inclusive, school-wide event.

In addition, secondary students took part in a Math Quiz Bee—the first ever at our school! Ten groups competed against each other, with each group tackling a set of questions in three categories: Easy, Medium, and Difficult. The questions gradually intensified, ranging from straightforward word problems to jumbled equations that only an alien might understand. And yet, despite the challenge, our courageous competitors rose to the occasion, battling it out to become the victors of the event.

To add to the excitement, the school also placed puzzles and word problems around the campus, encouraging all students to submit their answers. During the Quiz Bee event, the hosts pulled a random submission and awarded prizes to those who answered correctly. These puzzles served as a fun reminder that even optional activities can be both rewarding and enriching.

As the day came to a close, the Math Quiz Bee stood out as a highlight, reinforcing our students' math and critical thinking skills in a fun, dynamic, and competitive environment. Math Pi Day 2025 was not just a celebration—it was an opportunity for every student to explore the creative side of mathematics and be part of a shared learning experience we won’t soon forget.
