Sampoerna Academy L’Avenue celebrated yet another remarkable achievement at the Jakarta Round of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC), held from May 3–5, 2025, at Gandhi Memorial Intercultural School. The awarding ceremony took place at the Ciputra Artpreneur Theater.
The World Scholars Cup is a global academic competition that aims to celebrate learning and collaboration across subjects and cultures while fostering unity and collaboration among students. If that seems vague for you, think of it like a big competitive debate! This year, it revolves around the theme of “Reigniting the Future”, which is a commentary on how society always seems to get back up for more progress and innovation after periods of disruption.
Our students participated the competition under four main events:
Team Debate – Teams debate on prepared motions
Collaborative Writing – Writing on different subjects
Scholar’s Challenge – A multiple-choice quiz with nuanced thinking
Scholar’s Bowl – A team quiz with clickers and multimedia questions
The 2025 subjects included: Science & Technology, Literature & Media, Art & Music, Social Studies, History, and a Special Area—an interdisciplinary theme unique to each season.
